The sample population had been sent to the center because of severe behavior problems which their parents could not control. Three questionnaires solicited information from the juvenile protection agency, the educators at the rehabilitation center, and the juveniles themselves. Each of the juveniles revealed numerous behavior problems (4.4 different problems on average) including drug consumption, scholastic problems, running away, and alcohol consumption. After studying the treatment approaches, the study concludes that the juveniles overall benefited from their stay at the center. However, to address the problems of these juveniles more effectively, the study recommends to open more of the group settings to girls, to create special treatment programs for addicts and sexually troubled juveniles, to limit the stay to a maximum of 6 months, and to station social workers at public schools to help in prevention and early detection. 28 references
