The material in this training and technical assistance notebook are designed to help corrections personnel and victims' services workers create or enhance services for crime victims in adult and juvenile corrections and parole agencies. The notebook was used at a conference sponsored by the National Victim Center, the National Organization for Victim Assistance, American Correctional Association Victims Committee, California Department of Corrections, and California Youth Authority.
Abstract
The notebook contains guidelines, standards, brochures, legislation, agency procedures, sample forms, and training curricula. The first volume of the notebook covers eight major topic areas including corrections-based victim service programs; victim and witness notification programs; guidelines for correctional agencies to protect victims from intimidation, harassment, or harm; and developing a public awareness brochure about victim services in corrections and parole. Other subject areas include guidelines for victim services in the parole process, victim impact statements, guidelines for separate waiting areas, and restitution. Chapter references
