The materials in this training and technical assistance notebook are designed to help corrections personnel and victim's services workers create or enhance services for crime victims in adult and juvenile corrections and parole agencies. The notebook was used at a conference sponsored by the National Victim Center, the National Organization for Victim Assistance, American Correctional Association Victims Committee, California Department of Corrections, and California Youth Authority.
Abstract
The notebook contains guidelines, standards, brochures, legislation, agency procedures, sample forms, and training curricula. The second volume of the notebook covers eight major topic areas including staff victimization and critical incidents, impact of crime on victims programs, victim offender programs, and HIV issues affecting crime victims and corrections personnel. Other subject areas covered include curriculum for correctional personnel, promoting National Victims' Rights Week with corrections professionals, victims' need to know, and the relationship between crime victim services and corrections.
