This issue reviews and provides commentary on various recent case decisions of California State courts.
Abstract
The case decisions cited pertain to judicial voir dire on racial prejudice, the waiver of preemptory challenges, the Miranda exclusionary rule, the battered child syndrome and propensity, confrontation and hearsay, DNA typing evidence, international self-incrimination, health care peer review immunity and criminal trials, corroboration for false pretenses, speed traps, good faith exception, oral intrusion, alternative bases for a verdict, "Son of Sam" laws, and justice delayed. The review includes the basis for the decision in each case.
