The police in Badem-Wurttemberg, Germany established two projects to provide curriculum materials and speakers to schools to prevent juvenile delinquency and drug abuse.
Abstract
The schools require each school to have a drug counselor-teacher who focuses on drug prevention programs as well as juvenile delinquency prevention. To support this effort, the State police prepared teaching materials in cooperation with local college professors. They also sponsored a competition which generated posters, essays, songs, and other creative products. Teachers, students, and the government committee on juvenile delinquency prevention regarded these efforts as successful. The drug prevention efforts have included speakers to a variety of groups, lessons presented to apprentices in vocational schools, and presentation of drug prevention information at disco dances. Copy of flyer distributed at disco dance.
