Between 1987 and 1991, the average annual increase had been nearly 4 days. For indictable offenses, the time from first listing to completion remained at 63 days, the first time in a June survey that no yearly increase was recorded. The percentage of summary nonmotoring cases completed at first court appearance rose from 66 percent in June 1991 to 70 percent in June 1992. This resulted in a 5-day reduction in the time from first listing to completion to 21 days. For summary motoring cases, a 1-day increase to 163 days was recorded in the time from offense to completion.
