This curriculum, published by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, aims for the student to recognize, a given crime, based on a word or picture, know whether the crime was complete, and identify the crime by its common name and crime classification.
Abstract
Each section provides the appropriate sections from the State penal code and, in the more complex cases, notes relevant elements of the crime, definitions, criminal intent, and points of discussion. The property crimes included in this curriculum include theft; defrauding an innkeeper; appropriation of lost property; embezzlement; forgery; fraud; unauthorized entry of property; burglary; burglary with use of explosives; possession of burglary tools; altering serial numbers on certain articles; receiving stolen property; vandalism; cruelty to animals; arson; possession of a firebomb; and aid, counsel, or procure to burn land or property.
