This document presents the text of the administrative regulation of the Colorado Department of Corrections that prohibits workplace discrimination and harassment.
Abstract
The purpose of the regulation is to specify in writing the department's policy against discrimination and harassment in the workplace and to specify definitions, complaint-filing procedures, supervisory responsibilities, investigative procedures, rights of the complainant and accused, and corrective actions. The regulation expressly discrimination against of harassment of any employee based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, physical or mental disability, or color. This regulation is based in the recognition that such discrimination and harassment creates a negative work environment that may detrimentally affect productivity, efficiency, work attendance, and staff turnover. Workplace discrimination and harassment complaints will be addressed quickly and seriously. Persons found guilty of such behaviors may be subject to corrective or disciplinary actions, including but not limited to counseling, reprimand, demotion, suspension, or termination.
