The report provides general information and a survey of the force for the year. There are no serious problems noted; however, the recruitment of male nationals continues to be a problem. Twelve males and two females were recruited into the service during the year. Major operations that required special police arrangements were the annual Labor Day celebrations, annual Sailing Week activities, Carnival festivities, and the Fifth Test Match (England versus the West Indies). Inservice and overseas training courses were conducted during the period under review. Information on organization and administration addresses the size and distribution of the force, personnel health, promotions, divisional organization and responsibility, discipline, length of service, and composition of the force. Statistics on activities of the major branches and divisions encompass crime and criminal investigation, drugs, sudden deaths, missing persons, missing motor vehicles, patrols, the criminal records office, fingerprint and photography, the collator system, and the court process. Other information provided covers the work of the fire brigade and other branches such as immigration, marine branch, firearms, communication, and revenue collection. Expenditures are also itemized.
