The section on crime trends presents statistics on State total Crime Index offenses, Downstate Crime Index offenses, Chicago Police Department Crime Index offenses, and Crime Index Arrests. The section on offense and clearance data covers offense and clearance trends, downstate Illinois, and the Chicago Police Department. Information on adult and juvenile arrest trends is broken down for Downstate Illinois and for Chicago. There are separate Crime Index/crime rate comparisons for police departments, sheriffs' offices, colleges and universities, the Secretary of State, counties, Illinois State Police, hospitals, railroads, park districts, airports, and "other agencies." Separate sections of the report provide statistics on hate crimes, domestic violence, and police officers killed or assaulted. Extensive tables
