A U.S. Senate subcommittee report summarizes the threat of Asian organized crime and proposes recommendations to deal with the problem both in the United States and internationally.
Abstract
The Senate subcommittee report concludes that the response of U.S. law enforcement to the significant threat of Asian criminal groups involved in drugs, violent robberies, and other illegal activities has been tentative and essentially ineffective. It is essential to coordinate efforts on the part of international law enforcement agencies to respond to the problem. The subcommittee recommends bold new approaches to better combat Asian organized crime and the new international criminal that Asian crime groups represent. Recommendations specifically address international initiatives, domestic initiatives, and immigration issues.
