The Regional Psychiatric Center (Prairies) is operated by the Correctional Service of Canada in affiliation with the University of Saskatchewan. The center provides assessment and treatment programs for inmates and has a 106-bed capacity. The Regional Psychiatric Center (Pacific), originally opened as a drug treatment center for female inmates, is now a male psychiatric center. The center provides for the mental health needs of inmates through assessment and treatment and a full range of library services, educational programs, life skills training, and substance abuse treatment. The Regional Treatment Center in Ontario is a 90-bed mental health facility that has a sex offender program and female, acute psychiatric, subacute and assessment, and rehabilitation units. Dorchester Penitentiary delivers several intensive therapeutic programs to offenders with addictions, learning disabilities, and mental disorders and to sex offenders and inmates with anger management problems. 2 tables
