This report highlights the significant issues and initiatives that were addressed by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency during 1992.
Abstract
The agency has historically undertaken the role of change agent for the State's criminal justice system. During 1992 it presented the findings of its Minority Research Project, implemented a community-based prevention/intervention initiative to prevent future delinquent behavior among targeted at-risk youths, and developed the first joint statewide victim assistance conference in collaboration with three other organizations. The commission also administered a total of 317 subgrant awards in the amount of $25.4 million, organized a pilot project to develop a model management information system for community-based victim service agencies, and collaborated with other agencies in a Federal initiative designed to introduce victim-related reforms in the correctional system.
