This collection of round table presentations from a conference held in Ecuador in 1991 reviewed Latin American antidrug campaigns that used the media, education, health promotion, and community services.
Abstract
Media campaigns reviewed included a "say no to drugs" campaign, and educational and health promotion campaigns from infant health to adolescent sexual responsibility. The presentations also summarized the impact of cultural factors upon campaigns. Both quantitative and qualitative evaluations of existing programs were highlighted, and a comparison was done with an antidrug program in Florida (United States). Each session was followed by an open discussion forum, the text of which is included in the document. The complete text of the conference recommendations and a list of conference participants are appended. individual paper references, charts, and graphs
