Abstract
Research sponsored by the Police Foundation has contributed to advancements in policing since the organization's creation in 1970. The research program focuses on a range of strategies and systems employed by departments nationwide; some of these programs address drugs in public housing, recruit training, domestic violence experiments, child abuse investigations, and an evaluation of positive peer culture. The foundation provides a range of supportive services to departments seeking to identify and solve problems or develop human resources. Some of the issues addressed include fighting racial bias, developing community drug control strategies, fighting domestic and international terrorism, and improving campus safety. The Communications Division of the foundation concentrates on media relations, publications, awards, and public affairs. This report presents the foundation's financial statements.
