This book presents the text of Federal court rules and titles of the Federal Criminal Code amended to March 1, 1990.
Abstract
Court rules presented pertain to criminal procedures, with amendments to March 1, 1990; rules that govern cases under Sections 2254 and 2255 of Title 28, U.S. Code, with amendments to March 1, 1990; rules of procedure for the trial of misdemeanors before U.S. magistrates, effective June 1, 1980; rules of evidence, with amendments to March 1, 1990; rules of appellate procedure, with amendments to March 1, 1990; and rules of the U.S. Supreme Court, with amendments to March 1, 1990. The following portions of the Federal Criminal Code are presented, as amended to March 1, 1990: Title 18; Title 15, Section 1644, Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards; Title 21, Chapter 13, Drug Abuse Prevention and Control; Title 26, Chapter 53, Machine Guns, Destructive Devices, and Certain Other Firearms; Title 28, Chapter 58, U.S. Sentencing Commission, Chapter 153, Habeas Corpus, and Chapter 175, Civil Commitment and Rehabilitation of Narcotic Addicts; Title 31, Chapter 53, Subchapter II, Records and Reports on Monetary Instruments Transactions; Title 41, Sections 51-58, Anti-kickback Act of 1986; and Title 46, Chapter 38, Maritime Drug Law Enforcement. Advisory Committee notes for the rules are presented following each rule; and revisers' notes, if any, are included under sections of Titles 18, 28, and 31. An article on Federal indictments and joinder discusses the content of accusatory pleadings from filing or presentment of the pleading through postconviction review, exclusive of grand jury proceedings. A detailed, consolidated index is provided, along with appended legislation related to the rules and titles presented in the body of the book.
