School health promotion includes school health education, nutrition and healthy school food services, school health services such as immunizations and screening, physical education and sports, the school as a healthy environment, workplace health promotion for faculty and staff, and school and community health promotion efforts. Each program is described with respect to its areas of emphasis, program components and subject matter, and youth and adult target groups. The description also includes a brief narrative summary of the program's history, purpose, funding, and major activities; materials or publications relevant to school health; and names, addresses, and telephone numbers from which to obtain further information. A form on which to provide information for the directory is also provided.
