Produced by New York State's Division of Criminal Justice Services, this directory is intended to provide concise and usable address listings of major criminal justice agencies in the State.
Abstract
Addresses, telephone numbers, and agency director names are provided according to eight categories: law enforcement (updated through March 10, 1993), prosecution and defense, courts, probation, youth, corrections, parole, and State- level criminal justice agencies. The law enforcement category includes police and sheriff departments, capital police, park and recreation police, environmental conservation police, and police officers associated with driving while intoxicated programs. The prosecution and defense category includes district attorneys, special prosecutors, and public defense services. The court category is subdivided according to superior, lower, and family courts. The youth category includes county, city, town, and village youth bureaus and New York's Division for Youth Facilities. The directory is produced under a cooperative agreement with the Bureau of Justice Statistics, an agreement designed to improve the transfer and communication of criminal justice information between Federal, State, local, and private criminal justice organizations.
