Abstract
The data base was searched using such terms as drunk driving, drinking and driving, driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, adolescents, youth, teenagers, young adults, and students. Material was selected for the years 1992 to May 1993. The 60 citations focus on the effects of social context and gender on drinking patterns, parental involvement in and concern over adolescent drinking and driving, student perceptions of alcohol consumption, risk-taking behavior of college students, the effect of television advertising on alcohol consumption, alcohol education programs, adolescent alcohol abuse, drinking age laws, alcohol-related traffic fatalities, and strategies to reduce youth drinking and driving. Studies referenced in the bibliography were conducted in the United States, Australia, and Sweden.
