Intended for use by male juveniles convicted of drug law offenses, this training manual explains the nature and rules of a residential program designed to help drug offenders acquire the skills, attitudes, and values they need to lead a productive life and avoid further crime.
Abstract
The program includes a residential phase lasting at least 8 weeks and an aftercare phase lasting 6 months. Participants should bring the clothes they are wearing plus two sets of plain white underwear and two pairs of plain white socks. They cannot telephone home during the first week. Family visits are allowed for trainees who are performing satisfactorily, starting in the second week. Participants are released to aftercare after satisfactorily completing the academic education, counseling, military training, physical training, and the 12-step counseling program and have their release recommendation approved by the juvenile court.
