DIRECTORY FOR CORRECTIONAL EDUCATORS, 1993

NCJ Number
143396
Date Published
1993
Length
116 pages
Annotation
This directory lists resources useful to members of the Correctional Education Association (CEA), a professional organization that serves as a legislative advocate for correctional vocational and secondary education. The CEA also publishes a journal and standards for adult and juvenile correctional education programs, works with international correctional educators, and cultivates recognition that correctional education is a positive means of addressing the root causes of criminality.
Abstract
The directory describes the objectives of the CEA, benefits of membership, membership options, and CEA special interest groups. A list of professional training efforts in correctional education includes degree-granting and in-service programs, divided by regions. Two subsequent sections lists State and provincial resource personnel, and Federal resource personnel. This edition lists, for the first time, the names of Federally supported clearinghouses, the curriculum coordination centers for the National Network for Curriculum Coordination in Vocational and Technical Education. It also lists the regional administrators for the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. Lists of CEA corporate and individual members comprise the bulk of the directory.
