The compilation includes all State laws that toll, extend, or eliminate time limitations for charging criminal offenses relating specifically to child victims of crimes, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, sexual exploitation, incest, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. General statutes of limitation that apply to "all felonies" or "all crimes" without specific reference to the age of the victim or children as a class of victims are omitted from this list. When a statute extends or tolls a general statute of limitation, reference must be made to this general provision to determine the applicable time limitations. Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming have no statutory statute of limitation for criminal felony prosecutions.
