Length
126 pages
Annotation
This document represents preliminary efforts by the National Criminal Justice Reference Service to develop a technical information package addressing police job task analysis.
Abstract
The final document should provide organizations involved in law enforcement selection, training, career development, and improved productivity with useful information on relevant projects and publications. The first section of the document contains a job task analysis bibliography of between 500 and 600 entries dating primarily from the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's. The second section includes information on police personnel derived from a 1967 report prepared by the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice. The third section contains a relevant segment on police from a report by the National Advisory Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Goals. The final section presents an introduction to Project Star (Police Officer Role Training Program), developed under the auspices of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training in 1974.
