Title: OHIO COURTS SUMMARY 1991
Document: PDF
Date Published: 1992
Annotation: This volume presents a statistical report of the Ohio court system, including its Supreme Court, for 1991.
Abstract: During the year, 3,137,022 new cases were filed in Ohio courts, including 2,576 in the Supreme Court, 11,031 in the courts of appeals, 616,662 in the courts of common pleas, 2,217,625 in the municipal courts, 287,776 in the county courts, and 1,352 in the Ohio Court of Claims. A period of transition continued in the courts during 1991. The new rules of superintendence adopted in 1989 have improved case management procedures, producing more meaningful case statistics. A revised implementation manual for the rules of superintendence was distributed in 1991. Two new rules of superintendence that took effect in 1991 were a requirement for an annual physical case inventory and a rule regarding local case management. Tables, figures, and map
