This report tabulates statistics regarding client characteristics and prison population movements in the Washington State correctional system.
Abstract
Tables pertaining to the population of adult correctional institutions and work release programs include average daily population and rated capacity by month, female average daily inmate population, racial and Hispanic origin distribution of resident inmates and of resident female inmates only, distribution of offenses and violent crime convictions, age distribution, and distribution of sentencing authority. Admissions to prison are tabulated by month and type of admission, type and county of conviction, age at admission by sex and by Hispanic origin and sex, county and race, type and sentencing authority, offense and type of admission, and month by sex. Statistics on releases from prison are presented in terms of type of release and month, race and Hispanic origin and type of release, stay by category of admission, length of stay by offense, sentencing authority, and month and sex. 23 tables
