The conference agenda included presentations on effective protection orders, lethality assessment, access to the courts, court-based victim assistance programs, evidence issues, prosecution units, cultural issues in domestic violence, expert testimony and battered women defendants, and pretrial release issues. Other subjects included judicial education, family violence coordinating councils, legislation and case law, death review teams, family reunification, children's exposure to domestic violence, community resources, and treatment programs for victims and children.
