Abstract
For May 1993, average daily population figures are collapsed into male and female categories for adult and juvenile offenders. County detention facility population figures are also categorized by felony, misdemeanor, and other subcategories (parole violators, State inmates, undocumented aliens, inmates held for other jurisdictions, and individuals held under mental health and alcoholism statutes). Within the former two subcategories, numbers of inmates held for trial or sentencing are provided separately. The report also contains the average daily population figures, incarceration rates for each county, number of overcrowded county detention facilities, and pretrial inmate levels for each facility. 4 tables and 3 figures
