Abstract
Bookmaking is a very lucrative and criminal operation. To assist law enforcement officers who may have to make a case against such operations, this article provides a detailed analysis of the types of bets that can be made on football and basketball games. It also focuses on the types of records that might be found to use as evidence in the gambling case. The article states that the best evidence is the recorded wager itself. A couple of typical wager slips are therefore examined. 3 figures
