The bulletin includes terms from materials provided at the previous Congress, documents developed for preparatory meetings of the Eighth Congress, reports and resolutions of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council, and reports of the Committee on Crime Prevention and Control. Where possible, the terms have been checked against authoritative monolingual reference works and legal codes. The terms were selected by the UN's Documentation, Reference, and Terminology Section, with equivalents selected in collaboration with the Translation Division. The terms, listed in alphabetical order, are in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Arabic.
