The results obtained from 126 prevention programs indicated that most problems are conducted at a local level and offer a prescribed curriculum and resource materials. Together they reach hundreds of thousands of students, parents, teachers, and other school staff. Nearly two-thirds receive State funding assistance, with less than one-third charging the schools. Most were established in the early and mid-1980's and have well-educated staff. In addition, most programs work to meet the needs of students with disabilities and provide a means for the disclosure of sexual abuse.
