Abstract
Accountability is viewed as the process by which government is held accountable or responsible for its actions. The bibliography focuses on relationships among accountability, control, and responsibility as they pertain to government and criminal justice administration. Sources of information used to compile the bibliography included online catalogs and databases, indexing and abstracting tools, subject bibliographies, national bibliographies, government catalogs, and many other relevant sources. Approximately 250 entries covering the 1970's through the 1990's are included that address issues in police accountability, police complaints and civilian review of police, and issues in accountability as they pertain to government and the criminal justice system. An appendix notes the sources searched in preparing the bibliography. References
