The first of six articles looks at the implications of community policing for police agencies and police investigations. The authors consider criminal behavior, political, and technological contexts in which community policing occurs. They also review police agency and investigator requirements generated by community policing in relation to organizational development efforts, personal qualities, and investigator skills. An article on private presentence investigations discusses court sentencing dockets and probation agencies. Another article focuses on police investigations of stalkers, and a typology of stalkers is presented. Subsequent articles examine DUI (driving under the influence) offenders in California, research exploring the effect of color on eyewitness identification accuracy, and the importance of forensic dentistry in police investigative work.
