A law introduced in 1967 penalized corruption in business. The law, which resulted from the efforts of a moral crusader who lacked the support of the business community, had little impact on business practices. However, in recent years concern has increased regarding corruption at workplaces. The number of internal security managers is increasing; businesses are beginning to formulate norms for their employees regarding the acceptance of fees or gifts from other parties in commercial relationships. The questionnaire survey did not receive responses from 40 percent of the enterprises surveyed. Findings revealed that a small number of businesses have standards. However, standards are lacking in about half of the enterprises. In the last 2 years, 30 percent of the respondents have discovered at least one case of corruption in their enterprise.
