This report presents corrections statistics for California for February 1994, including inmate populations and characteristics and parole populations and characteristics.
Abstract
Data are also provided for the end of each month since February 1993. The total institutional population in February 1994 was 120,777. The inmates included 113,211 males and 7,566 females. During the month, 7,102 inmates were paroled, 334 were discharged, 20 died, and 1,552 were released in other categories. The parole population of 85,975 included 77,693 males and 8,282 females. During the month, 8,485 entered parole and 8,291 were released and either returned to a correctional institution, discharged, suspended, or placed in some other category.
