This report presents statistics detailing the sentences imposed by the higher criminal courts of Victoria, Australia, in 1992.
Abstract
Individual tables present statistical measures of penalties, penalties for each type of offenses, the disposition for every count, and the numbers of persons convicted. Additional tables present statistical measures for suspended sentences of imprisonment, the principal offense for which imprisonment was imposed, and penalties other than imprisonment. Means, medians, modes, maximums, minimums, the 25th percentile, and the 75th percentile are given. Offenses are grouped into homicide and related offenses; wounding and assaults; sex offenses; robbery and related offenses for gain; theft, burglary, and related offenses; fraud; property damage; other offenses; and summary offenses.
