Abstract
Individual papers focused on the assessment and treatment of the nonpsychotic inmate, drug abuse, the treatment of the mentally ill inmate, and organizational and administrative issues. Individual papers discussed a parenting skills program for incarcerated males, an assessment instrument for suicide prevention, issues related to inmates who had been victims of child sexual abuse, holistic health in prison, addiction treatment, and the use of inmate peer counselors to motivate change in drug-abusing inmates. Other papers focused on psychopharmacology for mentally ill inmates, the selection of antidepressants for major depressive disorders, the mental health inpatient unit, inmate lawsuits against mental health professionals, coping skills for forensic clinicians, and ethical dilemmas related to death row inmates.
