This guide lists gangs alphabetically by State; sources of information included surveys of adult and juvenile correctional institutions, police chiefs, probation and parole officers, county sheriffs, and Asian students.
Abstract
The gangs identified in the guide include both gangs reported as a problem and gangs reported as being active in any capacity. Some of the more common gangs operating in several States are noted, such as the Bloods and Crips, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Disciples, Skinheads, and the Ku Klux Klan. Both black and white gangs are identified, as well as Mexican and Asian gangs. Neo-Nazi, motorcycle, inmate, and Satanic gangs are also listed.
