Abstract
In addition to addresses, telephone numbers, and the names of the agency director (with the exception of judges under the court listings) are provided for each organization. This edition includes one new listing: U.S. attorneys for the four districts in New York State. The listings are divided into eight major categories: law enforcement (updated through January 26, 1994), prosecution and defense, courts, probation, youth, corrections, parole, and State-level criminal justice agencies. These are further subdivided where appropriate. Law enforcement agencies encompass associations; police departments; sheriff departments; capital police; Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation Police; New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police; and Stop DWI Programs. Prosecution and Defense listings encompass associations, district attorneys, special prosecutors, U.S. attorneys, and public defense services. Court listings include superior (criminal proceedings), lower (criminal proceedings), and family court. For probation, the organizations included are associations, county probation departments, and the New York City Department of Probation. Listings for youth agencies encompass associations; county, city, town, and village youth bureaus; and the Division for Youth Facilities. Corrections listings encompass associations, county departments of correction, and New York State correctional facilities and camps. Parole agencies encompass associations and regional offices.
