The disciplines covered in the indexing are corrections, criminal law, criminology, drug abuse, family law, juvenile justice, police studies, prison administration, rehabilitation, and security systems. Each article citation provides the following information: author (if stated), article title, journal title, issue date, volume number, issue number, pagination, accompanying illustrative material (charts, graphs, illustrations), and document copy availability from University Microfilms International (microform and/or article copies). The format enables users to readily locate article citations. The first section of the book is an author index, in which citations are listed alphabetically under the author's last name. Coauthors are also included in this section. The second, and largest, section of the book consists of the subject index, in which both authored and unauthored articles are alphabetically interfiled. To find articles of interest, users look under key words in the subject index.
