The first Glock semiautomatic 9mm pistol was introduced in the early 1980's. Since then, the weapon's exemplary performance in testing and the edge it provides in combat situations has made it the handgun of choice for more than 3,500 Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies as of the end of 1990. Despite its increasing acceptance, a great deal of controversy and confusion continues to surround the Glock. This book identifies and attempts to resolve these issues. Some issues discussed are whether the Glock was actually sold to Libyan terrorists, the advantages of Polymer 2 (the plastic of which all Glocks and their accessories are made), whether these plastic parts allow Glocks to pass undetected through airport security systems, the number of Glock models and their calibers, and whether the Glock's light weight causes it to "kick" more than a heavier gun.
