During 6 years and 12 grant supplements from September 1985 through November 15, 1991, the National Juvenile Court Data Archive has produced an extensive array of tangible and intangible products.
Abstract
The grant reports have become the primary source of national information on the activities of the juvenile courts. To data the Archive has prepared 10 update bulletins, which have been the most popular ones in the series. To facilitate access to the archived data files, the project has also prepared and maintains more than 20 user's guides detailing the structure and content of the archive files. During this grant period, the project established the visiting scholars program, through which seven scholars have been in residence and produced articles published in academic and professional journals. The project also held the first Data Suppliers Conference, attended by representatives from 36 States. Finally, over the last 6 years the Archive has collected, documented, and stored millions of automated case records from the country's juvenile courts. The Archive is a unique information resource and will continue to provide detailed information on the youths who come to the attention of the juvenile courts and the courts' responses to these cases.
