Abstract
Statistics on the secure detention population are tabulated by admissions and transfers, bed utilization, average length of stay, and reviews by facility. Detention program indicators covered here include escapes; client-on- client assaults; client on staff assaults; room confinement; disciplinary confinement; use of mechanical restraints; and direct file, waiver, or indictment. Two separate sections deal with dependent youth in secure detention and detention overtime hours by facility. The final chapter addresses home detention, presenting statistics on admissions and transfers, slot utilization, average length of stay, and returns to secure detention.
