This annotated bibliography cites materials and organizations that deal with firearm violence in the United States.
Abstract
Bibliographic entries focus on firearms in general, firearm epidemiology, risk factors and behaviors, firearm violence costs, prevention and intervention strategies, firearm control policies, and television violence. Specific topics concern gunshot wounds, ballistics, firearm-related deaths, police officers killed in the line of duty, homicide, handgun crime victims, children and violence, handguns in urban high schools, suicide, family and intimate assaults, minority youth violence, violence prevention, gun control in the United States and Canada, and violence as a public health problem. The bibliography contains 54 material citations with brief abstracts and lists 10 organizations established to prevent firearm violence. Information is provided on how to obtain the materials and contact the organizations.
