Abstract

The document contains articles spanning two universities, six disciplines, and a wide range of topics. The articles deal with the effect of execution on homicides in Florida between 1979 and 1987, the geographic spillover effects of drug law enforcement and their implications for local law enforcement in Florida, and a content analysis of the cyclical nature of the drug crisis between 1970 and 1985. Other topics include correlates of police and correctional officer performance, an analysis of differences in role perceptions among senior patrol officers and university judicial officers in selected public higher education institutions in the U.S., and an analysis of factors influencing probation outcome. Finally, the authors deal with the role of perceived responsibility in the treatment of adolescent offenders, DUI offenders' perceptions of recovering and nonalcoholic counselors, and the status of the victims' rights movement in Florida. 2 appendixes, chapter references
