One of the fundamental tenets of community policing involves working in partnership with the community and other government agencies. To this end, the Montgomery County Police Department is committed to a smooth transition to community policing and to providing high-quality police services. Goals in the implementation of community policing focus on empowerment, problemsolving, accountability, partnership building, and organizational development. Objectives and strategies are specified for each goal, particularly with respect to timeframes, fiscal impacts, and the assignment of responsibilities.
