Abstract
During the reporting period, 52,727 children were referred to one of the 45 juvenile courts in the State; these children had a total of 72,748 referrals to court that year. Referrals are made for law violations; cases involving abuse, neglect, and custody; and status offenses. Formal dispositions that can be imposed by the courts include true out-of-home, true in-home, true no services, not true, motion to dismiss, and dismiss for certification. There are also informal dispositions: adjust without or with supervision, adjust with no action, transfer to other juvenile court, transfer to other agency, and referral rejected. Detailed statistical tables are presented on each of the three types of referrals. 11 tables, 15 figures, and 7 appendixes
