This conference, which addressed sexual harassment within the European police service, aimed to promote knowledge and expertise on the subject of sexual harassment, exchange information, provide support in developing a policy to combat sexual harassment and developing a joint training model.
Abstract
The papers contained in this volume covered a wide range of topics, including an introduction to the problem of sexual harassment, implementation of the European Commission Code of Practice on measures against sexual harassment, and the costs of sexual harassment in the police service. Other papers addressed offensive behavior in the police service and effective anti-harassment policies in the Netherlands, and an overview of the situation in various European countries. The final papers recommended steps that individual services can take to eliminate the problem of sexual harassment.
