Intended as a resource and referral tool for practitioners in human service, criminal justice, and school settings, this directory lists the services for children, youth, and families in Dade County, Fla.
Abstract
The directory includes all programs identified as providing social, education, psychological or medical services to Dade County youth. It does not assess the quality, efficiency, or availability of the services listed, nor does inclusion in the directory signify an endorsement or favorable evaluation of the program. Service categories under which programs are listed are counseling services, day-care services, educational programs, employment/training programs, general support services, health services, hotlines/information and referral services, mental health services, parenting skills training, prevention/diversion/rehabilitation programs, programs for special needs, residential programs, substance abuse treatment programs, support groups, teenage pregnancy programs/services, victim services, and youth development/recreational programs. Each agency listing contains a basic description of the service provided, including the geographic area served, branch offices, program goals, funding sources, and fees. Client information consists of age, admission restrictions, referral source, and number served. Volunteer requirements for each program are also included. Two indexes consist of an alphabetical listing of all programs by agency name and a listing of programs by service categories.
