The author notes that there were several hundred deaths nationwide between 1975, when Gary Addison Taylor was sent to prison, and 1979. The author himself investigated a small percentage of these, sufficient for him to conclude that the connection between the killings and satanism was strong and growing stronger. One section of the book discusses the author's involvement in the investigation of the Atlanta murders that occurred from 1979 through 1981. His investigation of the killings and his interviews with Wayne Williams convinced him that Williams was part of a Rastafarian black occult group that killed the young black boys as part of their ritual sacrifices. The author concluded that Wayne Williams was not the killer, but rather was given the assignment of disposing of the bodies.
