Results revealed that variables associated with a higher percentage of treatment objectives accomplished included (1) services being provided to the preadolescent child; the child residing at home; (2) the criminal charging of the perpetrator; (3) support by the nonoffending caretaker currently and at disclosure; (4) the provision of individual, family, and group therapy; and (5) the planning of service termination. Variables associated with a positive placement outcome included (1) the provision of services to the preadolescent child, (2) the lack of body penetration during the abuse, (3) the child living at home, (4) the child not being removed from the home, (5) services not being court-ordered, and (6) planning for termination. The accomplishment of a higher percentage of applicable treatment objectives was also significantly correlated with a positive placement outcome. Table and 39 references (Author abstract modified)
